Glass Tubing

Borosilicate glass tube (USP Type – I) – “Neutral Glass”

The glass tube is generally used for manufacturing Ampoules and vials, clear and amber, which belong exclusively to the first hydrolytic class in compliance with European and International standards. Our level of quality is structured around standard Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL), ensuring the highest level of quality.

Glass tube properties include excellent mechanical strength and thermal properties with maximum workability in customer transformation processes. The products are manufactured based on geographically diversified development, production, and quality assurance strategies.

Glass Technical Know How

Outer Diameter

Outer Diameter is the longest straight-line distance between two points on the tubing surface in a plane perpendicular to the tube’s axis.

Wall Thickness

Wall Thickness is the shortest distance between the inner and the outer surface. Wall Thickness (W.T.), each exceeding of limit value.

Tube Length

Tube length is the distance between both ends of the tubing. Both ends of the tubing water are cut and fire glazed.

Bow

This represents the longitudinal curvature of the tube measured between two points 1m apart and must not exceed 0.8 mm. Bow equals one-half the total radial run-out in 1 meter of tube length.

Ovality

The difference between the minimum and maximum external diameters across a tube section while rotating the tube.

Siding

Siding is the difference between the minimum and maximum thicknesses in a given tube cross-section.

Air Line

An Air Line of width up to 0.08 mm will not be counted as a defect. The maximum length of an air line in a single tube is 600mm. The maximum width of air is 0.15mm. Aggregate airline length is max. 2.5Mtr./10 Mtr.

Seeds

An Air line of length up to 15mm
Limit Value: 100 Nos./Kg

Stone

This defect occurs due to a piece of undissolved or crystallized refractory material or glass component appearing as an opaque block within the glass.

Knot

A knot is a defect, an inhomogeneous vitreous lump.

Scratches

A scratch is surface damage from moving a hard, pointed object across the glass. It has a negligible effect on the mechanical strength of the glass tubing or container.

Cracks

A crack is a fracture line without complete separation. A surface crack in a tubing or container significantly decreases its mechanical strength. Surface and Tube-end cracks longer than 10 mm on the tube-glazed ends, which are visible to the naked eye, are not permissible.

Dirt

Dirt is contamination by any substance. Any substance that is visible by the naked eye under standard lighting.

Glass Particle

Glass Particles are generally generated when draw tubing is cut by water–cooled blade after the drawing machine. Some glass particles are carried into the tube during this rough-cutting process. We perform a visual test by lighting the tubing with a fluorescent lamp from above an inspection table.

Packaging and Ordering Info

All packaging is made of plastic or carton paper. For global orders, upon request, we may employ different materials if compatible with packaging technologies. In addition, we can supply you with perfectly matched Neutral glass packaging for pharmaceutics. We offer optimum conditions for the most sensitive liquids and the best packaging solution from an economic viewpoint.

Manufacturing Process:

At Ghani Global Glass Limited, borosilicate neutral glass tubing is manufactured by melting a batch made after mixing defined raw materials with a defined composition in fully automated Borosilicate Glass Furnaces using the “Danner process.”

Ghani Global Glass uses laser technology over all its production lines for stringent quality control and rejects out-of-tolerance tubes.

Our production lines also have a cutting and glazing conveyor system to ensure even and smooth edges. Our product specifications are compliant with ISO standards.

International Standards

Ghani Global Glass facility is accredited with International standards
